Ok ladies and gents.this is ONLY!! For install with CWM. Whenever there is a new MAJOR firmware release to a new version of Android (i.e. Going from 4.1.x to 4.2.x), I will say push the firmware to your X5 and then you can reinstall CWM. That way the RKBatchTool will do a low level format of the NAND and keep your system running smooth. CREDITS go out to Minix for making this stellar rom used as a base!!
UPDATE (2/16/13): ok so I finally got the formatting script working and it formats ALL the partitions correctly into ext4 format. It turns out that it was mostly related to the CWM previous releases were not able to format ext4 correctly and I believe also because the system partition was never really a true ext4 format. Well all is well now with the last 2 new releases from fun, and from now on I will have a new setup on how to install my roms and keep up with the new firmware of Minix without having to go through all the hassle of reinstalling CWM and what not. I will drop my new roms later on.its 2:30am here right now and i'm bout to sleep now.
UPDATE (2/18/13): now you will have the option to change kernels after my rom is installed or before or whatever you want to do. As always, make a backup first cuz I'm not responsible for you losing your stuff. Read below for more info. UPDATE (3/07/13): Most likely this weekend, after some testing of course, I will be changing the way we install the kernels for use with my roms, so look out for that!
UPDATE (4/08/13): I have refrained from updating to the new firmware until Minix fixes a few of the bugs. They said sometime this week, so we will see. Until then I have changed a few things, but more importantly how to flash everything. Well without further ado.here it is folks!! Added libstagefright.so from Rockchip (you will have to install advancedsettings.xml manually if you want it). V 1.6 - added XBMC Gotham hw accel apk to compliment the hw accelerated libstagefright.so, changed the way we flash my rom and kernels, updated some apps, and enabled lockscreen by default. What is has in it. Bloatware removed Gameloft fix (credits Christian Troy) build.prop edits (just minor ones so that most games work, but sorry.no Tegra 3 games.
See the NOTE below 5.1 Optical S/PDIF.yet. NOTE: if you want 1080p support, you must flash the new firmware first!! Then you have to reinstall CWM and then you can flash my ROM again! Or you can use my kernel flashing zip, but you use that at your own risk. Downloads are below in post #2. I have updated the way we flash the kernels again, so you can use the ones from above if you feel the need to change kernels. NOTE 2: Apex Launcher is the only home launcher that is installed, so if you want a different launcher, make sure you install another one FIRST before you delete Apex Launcher.
Installation instructions: 1) Copy the.zip to your X5 2) Reboot into CWM 3) Click on 'Install zip from SD Card' 4) Select the.zip and wait I would do a Wipe Data/Factory reset twice to be safe and no errors, even though my ROM will delete your data anyways.so do a backup before you flash!! You no longer have to wipe, as my rom will wipe and format automatically.so still do a backup before you flash!! If you guys find anything, let me know. Please hit the 'Like' button if you enjoy this rom, thanks!! XBMC: Delete the '.txt' off of 'advancedsettings.xml.txt' below to make it 'advancedsettings.xml'. You will need to put it in your 'sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata' folder using a file explorer app. Now koying's blacklisting is disabled refer to this thread for more info. Page 32 of the thread will have more advancedsettings options. NOTE: You must have installed the xbmc hw accel apk from xbmc.org and run it FIRST before you will see the 'userdata' folder above! KERNEL FLASHES: These no longer need to be used and really is not a good way, so please see above in post #1 if you feel the need to change your kernel.
I have decided to keep these here for the people who do not have or do not want CWM recovery (you can uncheck the 'recovery' box if you do not want CWM). IMPORTANT!!: PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE FIRST BEFORE FLASHING THESE!! These zips contain the newest CWM recovery, so it is recommended that if you are coming from Finless's rom or Jazz's rom to flash one of these FIRST and then boot into recovery and then flash my rom. Like always, there is a disclaimer.don't blame me for ish if your device catches on fire! 720p kernel: 1080p kernel: MODS: White mouse cursor from 4.0.4 ICS build but with blue and black tip that I made zip flashable through CWM.
Lockscreen Enabled - this is enabled by default in my rom Lockscreen Disabled - just in case people want it for some reason NOTE: These are only flashable through CWM. The lockscreen will need to be reset after each reboot! This is for JB 4.1.10117 only guys and I have only tested this on the 1080p kernel (though it shouldn't matter what kernel you're on), so please make a backup before flashing this.you have been warned!!
